Introduction

So, I finally decided to start a blog!!  I have been wanting to do this for quite a while but haven't had a reliable computer in months.

My name is Stella and I am 24 years old.  I live in the Midwest in an apartment with my furry children, B (tabby cat) and K (German Shepherd).  I have an awesome boyfriend, H.

I love to read and devour books almost as fast as I can buy them or check them out at the library.  I love music, rock climbing, and nature.  I love animals, especially sea creatures.  Despite living nowhere near the ocean, I love the beach, sunsets over the ocean, and I hope to one day learn how to surf.  I currently work a 9-to-5 type job in an office, doing mundane work that does not challenge me at all - but in this economy I am grateful to even have a job.  I hope to graduate from college within the next year or so with a degree in Psychology and would like to eventually get a Masters and a Ph.D in Psychology.

I have struggled with depression, anxiety, ADHD, disordered eating, and eating disorders for as long as I can remember.  I sometimes feel so alone in my world, like no one around me understands.  I have been lurking on various blogs for the past few months and have been wanting to make a blog of my own to connect with others who really understand what it is like to struggle on a daily basis.

I am starting this blog for many reasons.  I think it might be theraputic to get my feelings out.  I always have a better time processing thoughts, ideas, and emotions when writing or typing them.  It also will be nice to relate to others and not feel so alone.  I hope to be able to offer support and encouragement to others.  I am looking forward to making some friends in blogland so I would love to hear from anyone who stumbles across my blog!

  1. Nice to meet you Stella! I'm really sorry you have had a rough time, but I think that the decision to use writing as an outlet is a great step. Sometimes writing (or typing) things out helps us organize thoughts that otherwise would have just stayed in that chaotic brainswirl.

I look forward to keeping up with your blog, I've read your entries so far and you really have a way with words. It seems as though we have a lot in common, I also have a love for animals (w00t for German shepherds!), rock climbing, and inhaling books. Hang in there, take care and don't lose hope!
