Tears
They can come from sadness, anger, frustration, or even happiness.
They can be embarrassing if we are in public, or they can be soothing if we are alone.
They can be quiet - just little droplets running down our face.
They can be heart-wrenching sobs, where we have to catch our breath and it seems as though they won't ever stop.
They can be calming, like when we were little and we would cry ourselves to sleep, and we would wake up feeling relieved.
They can be comforting and let us know that we can actually feel, that we aren't numb.
They can release all of the pain that we have in our hearts; they won't get rid of the pain, but they can make us feel better about it, at least temporarily.
Who would have thought that droplets of water from our eyes could possibly express what we sometimes cannot say with words?

hey Stella! I found your blog through kara's and thought i would drop in and say hi. I am also a fan of Bloxygen and other blogs with an ED/recovery theme. I have a blog about the same.
ReplyDeleteI like what you said about droplets of water from our eyes expressing what we could not. I never thought of it that way :)
